About Joaquin

I write for listeners, bluntheads, fly ladies and prisoners.

Joaquin Selva is a lover of hip hop, shit talking, and a few other things. I am also a garbage rapper and a dreamer. I’ve been listening to hip hop pretty much my whole life, I started writing my own (trash) rhymes at about 12 and started working on my own (even more trash) beats at about 14. Luckily I realized I have more of a talent for writing and speculating about hip hop than I do for making it, but the dream will never die.

JoaquinI know money’s tight for a lot of y’all, and I feel that. That’s why I only write about affordable headphones, speakers and clothing that I would buy (and could afford) by myself. No matter what the radio makes it seem like, hip hop ain’t about dropping stacks on some shit you don’t need. Of course, this applies to music too, and I wouldn’t recommend anything I myself don’t think is fire. Trust.

Wondering if you share my taste?

Below on the left are a few of my all-time favorites. On the right I got some more recent shit (last 3 years) I like. These are in no particular order, and they might not even be the best albums out, but they’re my favorites.

You like this shit too?

Of course, there’s plenty of other fantastic hip hop out there both past and present, but these are just a few of my favorites. Please don’t email me/comment complaining that your favorite album isn’t on here, unless you’re ready to debate. If you like what you see, then stick around and see what we got for you here at Spit Talking. I think you’ll like it.
